The Medical University of Vienna has an exciting job opportunity for a postdoctoral fellow in biostatistics starting in autumn 2024 with guaranteed funding for 2 years via a joint project of the Institute for Clinical Biometrics and the Department of Epidemiology. About the project: The successful candidate will work within a research project that aims to answer epidemiological research questions utilizing Austrian registry data. The focus is on prediction and causal inference with time-to event data and has a methodological meta-objective to evaluate different analysis approaches. The project involves close interdisciplinary collaboration as well as collaboration with methodological experts within the STRATOS initiative especially in the field of time-to-event analysis. Required qualifications: PhD in statistics, data science or a related field, e.g. mathematics, etc. Outstanding programming skills in R Ideally some experience in time-to-event analysis, prediction and/or causal inference Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (knowledge of German is not required) Willingness to collaborate across scientific and geographic borders, including organizing and leading discussions among our expert panel What we offer: An international and multidisciplinary research environment consisting of biostatisticians, epidemiologist, (bio)informaticians and clinicians The possibility for collaboration across the Medical University of Vienna as well as national and international experts within the STRATOS network and beyond The Postdoc salary will depend on experience (min. € 4752 gross salary per month for full time equivalents).
